IRC Client Program Setup

When you download and install your IRC client program, you must before also perform some settings before you can connect to the OncoChat server. For mIRC, refer to How to Install mIRC and for IRCLE, refer to the IRCLE Quick Start Guide.

You will need to add information about the OncoChat server, as it will not appear in the default server list provided with your client program.

The example below is for mIRC, although the information it is applicable to all IRC client programs.

Click Servers in the mIRC Options dialog box.

Click Add to display the Add Server dialog box. Complete the fields as shown below.

Description: OncoChat IRC Address: irc.oncochat.net Port Number: 6667,7000 Group Name: OncoChat Password: Do not enter anything here.

The OncoChat Network now appears as an option in the IRC Network field.
